Hallo hallo hallo!

How are you my faithful fridgy.com-ers!? Regulars, thanks for stopping by… And newbies, welcome to the best website since www.amihotornot.com.*

Well Camp Fridgy has been busier than an ugly stripper. I have just started a new job on Channel 9’s Kerri-Anne Kennerley show hosting infomercials. Feel free to keep an eye out to see my ugly mug on the tele and who knows, you may end up scoring a great deal on an Ab Machine or the new Tomato Peeler 2000.

AND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Guess what else happened! You may have heard about Robyn Williams doing a surprise gig at the Sugarmill in the Kings Cross. I happened to be there that night watching and it was unbelievable. Robyn was great, as was another comic called Jeff Garcia and some dude from Reno911 called Lombardo something or other. (By the way, what a great name Lombardo is – don’t you reckon it sounds like a pirate? LOMBARDO CANNONTEETH!!! …………. No? Fine.)

Elijah Wood was also there but he didn’t get up to do any comedy. Instead he just sat there with gigantic bright blue eyes, irritating good looks and his bulging wallet. My girlfriend got a photo with him. I’m sure it was nice for her to be in the arms of a successful person for a change. To cut a long story short – Robyn Williams was great and while he looked drunker than Brendon Fevola at a Tooheys Christmas party (remarkable seeing he is a recovering alcoholic and only drank coffee all night), everyone loved seeing him on stage at such a private, intimate gig.

Anyways, the point of the title of this blog was because I was on at The Sugarmill the following week. How about all the poor punters who came to The Sugarmill that week. That’s how I opened the night… “Who heard about Robyn Williams performing here last week!?… *big cheer*… well didn’t you guys pick the wrong week. Last week a Hollywood moviestar, this week – FRIDGY!”

Ok that’s enough typing for now. The Simpsons is on and this blog should have only taken about 3 minutes to type. It feels like I’ve been going for 3 days as I watch about 10 minutes of Simpsons after every sentence. Even that last sentence took a while.

Ok, take care and thanks for stopping by! Please do so again soon.
Done.

* completely untrue.

Hey there friends!

Well I’ve been super slack in updating this page. Even one of my douche-bag mates has been critical of my lack-of-updating and as much as I hate him and his big fluffy head – the man has a point.

All is great in Camp Fridgy. While the comedy front has been quiet (I took January off as I went to New Zeeealund for a week and then I was extremely busy sitting on my arse watching the Australian Open for 2 more weeks.) So my first comedy gig of 2010 will be next Tuesday at The Sugarmill. It’s in the Cross so come down for a laugh and some AIDS.

I’ve also been keeping busy with voice-overs and last week I was in a McDonalds ad so yes, I’ve pretty much made it as an actor! I think just before Brad Pitt signed for “Legends Of The Fall” he was getting filmed in a McCafe. And that’s really all I did. For 3 hours. I sat and drank coffee in a McDonalds. I couldn’t sleep that night… Not because of how much coffee I drank, but because I was thinking about my career and crying.

Here is a photo:

Also, I have just landed a new job! I’m very excited and I won’t discuss the details yet, but all of you old people / stoners / other comedians who watch daytime TV – keep a look out on Channel 9. I start on Wednesday and I’ll certainly tell you guys more about it next time!

That’s it for now. Thanks for stopping by, please do so again soon ok? Good.
Done.

Hey friends,

Just thought I’d post once more before Christmas as I imagine it’s going to get very busy over the next few weeks. Well, not for me. I do bugger all every day. But all you normal people with normal jobs and lives are probably going to be pushed for time and might not have time to visit www.fridgy.com (crazy, as I know it’s your favourite hobby)…

Anyways, just thought I’d give you a bit of a brief report on a gig I did the other night. Pretty much every time I update this blog I get on here and tell you that “the gig went great”, or “the gig was fun” or “I love watching cooking shows”. Ok, well maybe not the last one, but it’s true so now you know how I spend my spare time.

Well the other night, I have to be honest – I did a gig and it was not a pleasant one. It was at the Macquarie Hotel in Liverpool and maaaannnn it was tough! I was the MC and there were about 15 people in the crowd. None of them seemed like they really wanted to be there and I tried and tried to warm them up, talk to them, told them my best jokes… all while they sat there with their arms crossed and a scowl on their faces that would make an old person jealous. I told them they looked bored (not really supposed to do this as an MC but I figured I might as well be honest), then I told them that even the empty seats looked bored. Finally I got a couple of decent laughs and I brought the first act on (Nick Capper). He did well in the circumstances and by the time I did my second bracket of MC-ing they were drunker and willing to chuckle at least a little bit…

The headline Matt Elsbury also did well and the three of us could walk away feeling like we did a decent enough job. Although I tell you what – those first 10-12 minutes on stage were like standing in front of bunch of mutes in a library. Like I said in the title of this blog not all gigs can be great, and I guess you learn from these types of shows…

Learn things like don’t ever go to Liverpool again. Zing! Kidding, I’ve had fun nights there before. Maybe it was the full moon. Maybe I should stop making excuses.

Ok everyone, have a fantastic Christmas and thanks for popping by during the year! Have a good New Years and please come by again regularly in 2010 – chat to you then!

Done.

Probably not. As it’s ages away. I guess it’s just starting to feel like the festive season… warmer weather, decorations in shopping centres, getting drunk regularly on weeknights. Ok maybe it’s just me doing that.

This will just be a very quick update to say that all is well in Camp Fridgy. Been very busy with voice-overs and comedy. Been hosting the odd trivia gig here and there too. Actually the other day I did one in Rooty Hill and I was pretty confident I would get bashed and / or mugged on my way back to the car (I had to walk across Rooty Hill train station which is more dangerous than an Al Quaeda training camp’s cafe.) Even the bouncer was telling me to be careful. So I thought I’d take my licence and ATM cards out of my wallet and put them in my undies so if I got mugged, only my money would get taken. Then I thought of 2 possible scenarios:

1. I get mugged by a flamboyant criminal who not only wants my phone and wallet, but also my underwear. Imagine how confused he would be when I took them off and my ATM card was inside. Chick-ching. Weird.

2. I forget to take them out of my undies, and then on my drive home I get pulled over by a cop who asks for my licence. I then have to fish them out from my undies. It would be funny as while I was the one who would get fined, he would have indirectly touched my balls. I win.

I digress. Plenty more gigs on the way over the festive season and also will be doing something very exciting next year comedy-wise with some of Australia’s best comics so stay tuned for details… very excited about this!!

Check in before Christmas as I’ll post again soon – take care everyone Fridgy.com-erino’s!

Not too much to chat about really, but I haven’t updated in a little while so thought I’d check in to tell you what’s been happening! Had a cracking gig at the Paddington Fringe last week! Man I love that place. If you missed it, don’t fret – I’ve got plenty of gigs coming up, including one tomorrow night at the Crows Nest Hotel. (I’m sure you weren’t fretting. Actually I don’t even know “fret” it means, I just heard someone say it once.) It’s with my great mate Steve Philp and Aussie comedy legend Mick Meredith. Also added plenty of other shows and they’re all here. ———————————————————————>

I can’t believe how much that doesn’t look like an arrow.

Meanwhile, since my life has been pretty un-exciting let’s re-cap those BIG headlines from the week… Umm, The Spice Girls are being tipped to re-form to help kick off the start of the 2012 Olympics in London. Let’s hope they show the same Olympic spirit as good old Sally Robbins once had… and just quit. BOOM! I also read that Prince William is coming to visit Australia in January. He’s coming to Sydney and Melbourne and is the second time he has come along in 1983 with his parents. I guess there’s no need to visit Perth, as that will just look like Sydney and Melbourne did in 1983. OHHH SNAP! Finally, Shocking won the Melbourne Cup. I was Shocked. Ok, I’ve got nothing for that story.

Thanks for checking in guys! Please do so again soon and until then, please don’t check any other comedian’s blogs in case they’re better than mine.

Done.

Hi there friends of Fridgy.com!

As I mentioned in my title, I really don’t have many things to talk about today. So I’ll keep it short and sweet. Speaking of sweet, I just went and ate a spoonful of Nutella out of the jar. Delicious. Seriously, do yourself a favour and re-discover Nutella. Spread of Kings!

So I’ve been hitting the gym up again. That’s been interesting. You forget how weak you get when you haven’t worked out properly in a while. In my case I didn’t forget as I am always weak, regardless of whether I’m working out or not. It’s amazing how you really experience the extreme highs and extreme lows of perving in a gym. Hot girl sweating – awesome. Fat old man sweating – yuck.

I’ve just added some new shows for December at the Boatshed and also Oatley Hotel. Also have the Paddington Fringe coming up soon and doing a spot at a new comedy night at the Crowie (look to your right for details.)

I did a run of shows at the Laugh Garage which were great. One of them, there was a young bloke (probably 18 years old) with his girlfriend and his girlfriend’s mum! And I managed to convince him to admit whether or not he shaves his balls. It turns out he does. Everyone thought it was funny on the night. Except we all left and forgot about it. They have to live with that awkwardness at every family bbq / relo bash for the rest of their lives. Silly bugger!

Ok, that’s it for now. I’ve managed to babble on and waste a good 2 minutes of your day. Don’t be discouraged though, come back soon for more babble. Please. Thanks.

Done.

Hey there world.

Well, it’s been an amazing last couple of weeks. Purely because a percentage of that time was spent in Las Vegas. Oh Las Vegas. I had forgotten how dangerous and out of control that place is. I have been on many boys weekends and ‘benders’ before but they all feel like a pat on the back when I compare them to the raping Las Vegas gave me and my bank account.

Great fun though and while I was there I went to a comedy club in LA. It’s called The Comedy Store and there were about 100 seats. Only about 6 of them had a bum in it. It would have been like performing at a Casey Donovan album launch. An empty room and the people who did come along were bitterly disappointed. (notice how I didn’t do any fat jokes, kept it clean. What a nice guy.)

All in all I had a great time in the States. I went to Vegas, Phoenix, back to Vegas (for more bodily damage), LA and then home. I rode a mechanical bull. I ate more wings than you could find in a Libra Fleur shop. (NOT SURE WHY I’M INCLUDING SO MANY CRAPPY JOKES TODAY!?!?) I shook hands with a crack dealer who had been playing with his balls for the last 20 minutes (a club bouncer told me this after I shook his hand). I can assure you, I’ve never washed my hands that well. They were cleaner than a Jerry Seinfeld gig. (OK, THAT’S IT. BLOG OVER – TOO MANY STINKY JOKES.)

In other news, I’ve just added a couple of new dates. I have Macquarie Hotel tonight and just confirmed a spot at the Crows Nest Hotel in November. Apparently it’s a cracking room so can’t wait.

Everyone, I love you deeply just for visiting. Please do it again soon and I will love you more than a …………… I’ve got nothing.

Done.

Hey gang,

Just a quick post to let you know I am well and I hope your lives have been spectacular this last couple of weeks. I’ve been really busy lately with voice-over work and other various bits and pieces. I’ve also joined a tennis competition and last night I lost to a 40 year old overweight fat man. He was probably a virgin and maybe a pervert. Ok, that’s pretty harsh, he wasn’t fat either, just kinda dumpy. He’s been playing all his life and his serve was faster than my fingers typing this right now (as I’m kinda late for a gig). Man that was embarassing getting thumped by a middle-aged dad. Fortunately, not all aspects of my sporting life have been terrible this week, as we made our soccer grand-final this weekend! Can’t wait. If we win, keep an eye out for me drunk in the Cross. And if we lose, keep an eye out for me drunk in the Cross.

I’m about to go play the Kit and Kaboodle (Sugarmill) in Darlinghurst. I’m the MC and I haven’t done a gig in 2 weeks and was just looking over my material feeling a little rusty. Hope I remember it all! I can’t read my own scribble / setlist either. Does that say “eyemask” or “eyemash” as those two things are substantially different. I don’t even know what an eyemash is. Either way it sounds dangerous. Also, I wanted to try a new joke tonight so if I do, I’ll let you know how it goes… Only if it goes well of course – if it dies in the arse then I’ll get on here and lie saying how I forgot to do it.

OK, well just got back from the gig and I did the new joke………..and………..it didn’t go that great. Bummer. Looks like it’s back to the drawing board. At least I was honest.

Talk soon friends – thanks for stopping byyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy…
Done.

Hi folks!

Well old mate Fridgy has been flat out these last few weeks. I’ve been travelling to all corners of the country to perform comedy to thousands of people just like Jerry Seinfeld. Ok, almost that entire sentence was either a lie or exaggeration.

I HAVE travelled around a little lately to perform comedy. However it wasn’t exactly ALL around our fantastic country. I went to Salamander Bay last Saturday and just yesterday got back from a gig in the snow. So I didn’t even leave NSW and there were probably a total of 150 people if you combine both of those audiences. Finally, I am nothing like Jerry Seinfeld. I’m not a millionaire, my teeth are no-where near as white as his, although I DO own sneakers. I wonder why they’re called ‘sneakers’. Are they for sneaking around? Am I right!? That means by soccer boots should be called ‘kickers’. GET IT! Now THAT was something Jerry Seinfeld would say.

Here is my “latest few gigs report”:

So the Salamander Bay gig was great fun! About 2 to 2 ½ hours north of Sydney and I played to a room of about 40 forty-year-olds who were sitting in wedding-style (big round table) seating. I must admit I was a bit nervous as to how it would go, but it was going great! That is, until they served dinner in the middle of my set. That wasn’t ideal. Who would choose me over prawns and potatoes!? You get my point. Kitty Flanagan and Dave Williams also had great shows and all in all it was a fun gig!

As for the snow gig: great show, long way to drive, a drunk heckler, a Zinger burger, 2 random guys with one leg each, Steve farting the whole way back in the car, Steve making me laugh by abusing sheep on the side of the road. That basically sums up the show. Great fun! A tough-to-hold-the-attention-of and drunk (yet lovely) audience, except for one guy who wouldn’t shut up the whole time through both Steve and my sets. We didn’t really like each other. I called him a piece of shit. He slurred back at me. Good times! Again, a really great show!

Also did the new Kit and Kaboodle room in Sugarmill (in Kings Cross) which was REEEEALLY fun! Great room: I’m back there in a few weeks and can’t wait!

Ok, this post is becoming too long; my Dad (who says my posts should be short and sweet) will be thoroughly disappointed in me. But at least I managed to waste a few minutes of your time while I got you up to date with World of Fridgy.

Thanks for dropping by, please do so again soon!
Done.

This isn’t controversial at all, however I find it strange how much everyone seems to have an opinion of his death and the kind of person he was. The guy made fantastic music when I was a kid and since then became pretty strange. Him passing away doesn’t affect my life, nor 99% of the population so why people get so

1. sad and upset, or
2. angry and abusive of the guy and his behaviour

absolutely baffles me! Pay your respects to a legend, of course. However whether he is dead, or sitting at home designing roller-coasters for Neverland – it doesn’t matter. None of us knew him. We can still go buy his CD, just like we’ve been able to for the past 20 years. Of course it’s sad when an influential person dies and I respect that, but I do find it confusing when people are wailing on TV saying they “are going to miss him so much”. Incorrect. Only a handful of people are going to miss him. Everyone else just won’t be able to watch him live when he tours next. Go on youtube, watch one of his film clips and have a Panadol.

RIP Michael Jackson, and RIP all the other people around the world that died that day, and RIP all the people around the world who have died since that day.

Ok, so that was all a bit serious. I felt like Alan Jones for a second then: opinionated, although perhaps a little less flamboyant.

All is well in Camp Fridgy. Did the Manly Boatshed on Monday which went fantastic. Great crowd and it’s always nice to do well at that venue as many comics go there to die. Manly Boatshed – more like Manly BoatDEAD! Am I right!!! Get it!! *sigh*

Also performed at The Oatley Hotel last night. Sure there was more people in the TAB than watching the comedy, but it was still a great gig and I called two sisters ‘lesbians’. Creepy, yet somehow very attractive.

Ok, check back soon friends!
